Marvel Comics has teamed up with Big Pharma giant Pfizer for a digital comic book featuring Captain America and the Avengers promoting the company’s coronavirus vaccines.
PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor on Tuesday likened Joe Biden’s announced cabinet picks to members of “The Avengers,” a fictional team of superheroes created by Marvel’s Comics.
Captain America star Chris Evans reportedly ripped President Donald Trump during an Avengers-themed fundraiser for Joe Biden on Tuesday, accusing the president of “actively trying to divide us.” The Hollywood star also blamed the president for the problems facing the country: “I think the fish rots from the head down.”
A whole lot of superheroes added up to a whole lot of ticket sales. The superhero smorgasbord “Avengers: Infinity Wars” opened with predictable shock-and-awe, earning $250 million in box office over the weekend and edging past “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” to set the highest opening weekend of all-time.
Marvel has certainly delivered better movies than Infinity War. What is more real this time, though, are the stakes. People die. Knowing this is Marvel, we cannot be sure if they die-die. Nevertheless, Infinity War leaves you in a dark and anxious place. It is going to be a long year.
