Texas Governor Greg Abbott was interviewed by Sean Hannity and the nationally syndicated radio talk show host told Abbott – “Good job in Texas, I’ll tell you that!” Hannity commended Abbott for his tough stance on sanctuary cities, his lawsuit against the Obama administration’s amnesty program, and putting a halt to Obama’s amnesty during his tenure as President. Texas DPS Seized $1.2 Million in Mexican Cartel Cash — from Chicago

MCALLEN, Texas — Texas State Troopers seized more than a million dollars in cartel money from Chicago that was destined for Mexico. The seizure took place Monday morning near Edinburg, Texas, when a state trooper pulled over a 2007 Peterbilt tractor towing a trailer, information provided to Breitbart Texas by DPS revealed.

Dan Golvach, told a Texas Senate Border Security subcommittee last week that what he has learned from his son’s murder by an illegal alien is it is “glaringly evident, that the federal government does not seem to be very invested in securing the border.” His testimony came during National Crime Victim’s Rights Week which was observed April 19th – 25th. Other witnesses urged Texas legislators to pass an interstate compact bill because the federal government has failed to do their job “to protect our families.” They testified about the “catastrophic loss” they have faced because of a porous border.

Police Body Cam Bill Passes in Texas Senate, Faces House Vote

A police body camera bill passed in the Texas Senate on Thursday by a split vote of 22-8, but faces the Texas State House which has two of its own bills. The bill does not mandate that Texas peace officers use body cams, but mandates uniformity of policies by those using the cameras provided by a grant. The eight Senators that voted against the bill were all Republicans.

Smugglers Hide Large Drug Load in Oilfield Equipment Near Texas Border

Moving drugs through highways used by oil workers and hiding drugs within oilfield equipment appears to be a new strategy being used by drug traffickers seeking to move large narcotic loads to northern cities. Earlier this week, Texas State Troopers arrested Carlos Lozano, a Mexican national who had been driving a tractor trailer loaded with more than 4,030 pounds of marijuana. The drug seizure occured just west of the border city of Roma, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

Texas Rep Files Bill to Repeal DPS Fingerprinting Non-Criminal Drivers

Texas State Representative Tony Tinderholt (R-Arlington) filed a bill on Friday that would stop the practice by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) of fingerprinting all ten digits of all drivers. The DPS policy changed from only collecting thumbprints to collecting all ten digits in 2014. Privacy advocates immediately began to clamor about this privacy invasion. Tinderholt, who campaigned on transparency and government accountability, introduced this bill, HB 871, as his first piece of legislation as a freshman state rep.
