Rubio Introduces Bill to Strengthen Indo-Pacific Bases Protecting Taiwan

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Thursday introduced a bill called the Deterring Chinese Preemptive Strikes Act that would “direct the U.S. Department of Defense to harden U.S. facilities in the Indo-Pacific to help further deter a preemptive strike against U.S. forces and assets in the region by China ahead of an invasion of Taiwan.”

Taiwan Launches Female Reservist Training Program

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen on Thursday inspected Taiwan’s first training program for female military reservists. Tsai praised the volunteers for their efforts and said the program would send a message that Taiwan is ready to face any threat.
