Oakland Mayor Schaaf: Trump Sanctuary Cities Proposal ‘Racist’—But Will ‘Welcome All’ Migrants

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, who infamously tipped off illegal immigrants of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids last year, over the weekend blasted President Donald Trump’s proposal to send migrants to sanctuary cities as “illegal, immoral, undemocratic, and racist.” Yet, the Oakland mayor said her city is “proud to be a sanctuary city” and would still “welcome all” migrants.

Booker: Trump’s Sanctuary City Proposal ‘Reflects This Contorted View’ He ‘Has About Humanity’

During an interview aired on Saturday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” 2020 presidential candidate Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) reacted to President Trump suggesting releasing migrants into sanctuary cities by saying the proposal “reflects this contorted view that Donald Trump has about humanity,” that “people seeking a better life coming to this country are somehow going to be a punishment” to sanctuary cities.

Limbaugh: Trump’s ICE Detainees-Sanctuary City Proposal a ‘Great Idea’ — ‘I’m Jealous I Didn’t Come Up with It’

Friday on his nationally syndicated radio show, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh praised President Donald Trump’s reported proposal to release Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees in so-called sanctuary cities.
