NY Times: Importance of Mothers and Fathers an ‘Absurdity’

One cannot help but wonder in which parallel universe the Times editors live where motherhood and fatherhood are self-evidently an “absurdity.” It also bodes poorly for the future of reasoned moral discourse, when professional journalists simply write off the deepest convictions of their adversaries as unworthy of serious consideration.

Leftists Push Italy to Follow Ireland on Same-Sex Marriage

Pressure is already mounting on other European states to follow Ireland’s example in embracing same-sex marriage, even if the vote is barely a day old. Once a conservative, Catholic nation, Ireland is being held up as an example of how to overcome one’s hidebound past to emerge into the bright light of modernity.

Gallup: Americans ‘Greatly Overestimate’ Percentage of Gays, Lesbians in U.S.

According to the poll, Americans estimate on average that 23 percent of their fellow citizens are gay or lesbian. The National Health Interview Survey, published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – a highly definitive study from 2013 – found that fewer than 3 percent of respondents identified themselves as gay, lesbian, or bisexual, and only 1.6 percent self-identified as gay or lesbian.

Planned Parenthood’s Abortion ‘Storytelling’ Tactic Borrowed From Militant LGBT Activists

The strategy of abortion “storytelling” – a tactic borrowed from LGBT activists – is that a person who has had an abortion talks about it openly and positively in order to elicit the empathy of listeners who might then be persuaded that abortion is normal and a good thing for women. Only the institutional left would come up with a strategy that aims to make abortion sound like a normal part of life.

Pope Francis Underscores Distinctiveness of Christian Marriage

As more and more countries enact laws permitting same-sex marriage, Pope Francis devoted his weekly “general audience” to the topic of Christian matrimony, distinguishing it from the merely social institution of marriage in its diverse forms and insisting that the life of the Church “deteriorates” whenever marriage “is disfigured.”

Why Is Polygamy Bad?

Imagine of the level of coordinated social energy poured into marginalizing opponents of gay marriage could be diverted into encouraging marriage and fidelity! Obviously we all agree that social pressures are very powerful, and not inherently wrong – we just disagree on how they should be directed.

Who Will Be the Next Victim of the Big Gay Hate Machine?

Perhaps just two or three decades ago, gay and lesbian individuals and their support groups expressed a desire for others to accept them for who they were. Most of them likely struggled with their sexual identity, and ultimately, they wanted to know that the important people in their lives loved them and cared for them no matter what. Acceptance was the goal for gays and lesbians back then. My, how things have changed.

Hillary Clinton in 2004: Traditional Marriage a ‘Bedrock Principle’

Barack Obama is not the only Democrat whose views have “evolved” on same sex marriage: Hillary Clinton, who now holds that the Supreme Court should declare a constitutional right to gay marriage, taking the matter away from the states, argued in 2004 for the “sanctity of marriage” and stated she was committed to “the fundamental bedrock principle that exists between a man and a woman.”

Catholic Relief Services VP Living in Same-Sex Marriage

Michael Hichborn, president of Lepanto Institute – which has in the past exposed CRS policy of programs supporting contraception – said, “This vice president is flouting Catholic moral teaching by living in a homosexual union and engaging in homosexual activism online. Personnel is policy, so it’s a fair question to ask how his lifestyle and activism have influenced policy at CRS.”

Blue State Blues: The Left Bullies Gays Who Like Traditional Marriage

I can’t pretend to have read all 64 of the amicus briefs filed by outside parties in Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court’s upcoming case on whether there is a federal constitutional right to same-sex marriage. But I have read one brief closely–the one filed by “same-sex attracted men and their wives” against federalizing gay marriage. The logic is compelling, the stories riveting–and that is why the left is terrified of it, calling it “the worst” of “terrible” arguments against gay marriage.
