Three More Migrant Bodies Found near Texas Border

Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents discovered the bodies of three deceased migrants over the past weekend who apparently attempted to or illegally crossed the border. Two were found in the Rio Grande and a third on a ranch in Kenedy County — about 60 miles inland.

Contract Awarded for New 11-Mile Border Wall in South Texas

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials awarded an $80 million contract last week for the construction of 11 miles of new border wall. The project, scheduled to start in September 2019, will build new barriers and security roads in the Rio Grande Valley Sector where none exists today.

Migrant Father, Child Rescued from Texas Border River

Border Patrol agents assigned to the Brownsville Station teamed up with Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations officers to rescue a migrant father and son when they became trapped in strong currents in the Rio Grande. The pair attempted to cross the river with a group of about 49 migrants.
