NPR Kicks Off 2016 Pushing Muslim Immigration, Ignoring Terror Threat

National Public Radio (NPR) listeners got 2016 off to a start by hearing a message of solidarity for Muslim refugees and against “hate groups.” NPR’s Hourly News Summary began with a story about German Chancellor Angela Merkel urging Germans to show “solidarity” with the 1 million refugees —mostly from Syria — who have streamed into Germany in the last year alone.

With all the focus on campus “rape culture,” those accused of sexual assault (read: men) often find themselves facing a byzantine, parallel system of justice in which standards of evidence and proof are dubious and the process seems stacked against them from the outset. Increasingly, these cases are being taken to real courts where the accused men are winning back the rights which were not protected by their universities.

Texas Abortion Clinics Have Time to Appeal to SCOTUS Before Closures

Texas abortion clinics have lost again at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; however, the Court complied with the abortion provider’s request for a ruling by June 19th so they would have time to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. July 1st is the date that the Fifth Circuit ruled that abortion providers must close their clinics.

NPR Lauds Prop. 47, Ignores Rising Crime

NPR public radio station KQED released an article lauding the results of Proposition 47, which was passed last November and resulted in a number of inmates being released from state prisons and county jails. But KQED managed to complete the piece without mentioning crime. The piece states loftily of Prop 47, “So far, it seems to be working.”

When Martin Pistorius was 12 years old, an unknown serious illness caused him to fall into a coma, where he remained for the next 12 years. Despite his poor prognosis, his family continued to care for him, not knowing their son could hear them and was aware of all that was happening around him. False Solidarity: Major News Outlets Refuse to Publish Charlie Hebdo Cartoon

The French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has published a new Mohammed cartoon, a week after two gunmen slaughtered twelve people in cold blood at their headquarters in Paris, France. The image depicts a crying Mohammed holding a sign that says “Je Suis Charlie.” While arguably not being nearly as provocative as previous covers, a number of American outlets refused to publish the cartoon.
