Hope springs eternal for NFL teams and their fans with the first NFL Sunday upon us. Aside from Atlanta — who lost to Philadelphia on Thursday — every team is undefeated and nobody is in last place yet.
The number of anthem kneelers is starting to dwindle. The Miami Dolphins are down to one (Kenny Stills) after putting two (Julius and Michael Thomas) on injured reserve. Many football-loving patriots hope it’s soon down to zero.
So what’s going on with NFL attendance in 2017? Is it up? Is it down? Is it status quo?

Several terrific match-ups this NFL Sunday, including a huge NFC South tilt between a pair of 8-3 teams, the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints.
Not a great slate of Sunday NFL games, with only one contest featuring teams with winning records. One game that should have been a marquee match-up, Green Bay at Pittsburgh, is now a dud, due to the absence of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (broken collarbone).
Tampa Bay – While Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell battle off the field, there should be plenty of good battles on the field this week, including the New Orleans Saints, winners of six in a row, traveling to Buffalo to face the surprising Bills.
Some terrific match-ups this week on the NFL schedule, including the streaking Los Angeles Chargers, facing perhaps the NFL’s best team, the New England Patriots. An additional intriguing match-up features the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Detroit Lions.
