Geopolitical Futures’ George Friedman has warned that Saudi Arabia’s inability to keep oil prices up to $90 a barrel will frustrate the kingdom’s effort to balance its books, meaning it is only a matter of time before “Riyadh’s unique social stability comes apart.”

China Denies Ordering Citizens in Muslim Western Region to Hand Over Passports

China’s state-run Global Times newspaper ran an article this week announcing that citizens of its western, largely Muslim province of Xinjiang were required to hand over their passports. The news went around the world before the Times apparently deleted the article and published a correction claiming the ordinance only affects citizens “suspected of having links to terrorism.”

ADL’s Jonathan Greenblatt Compares Trump’s Database to Holocaust

NEW YORK, New York — While delivering his opening remarks at the Anti Defamation League (ADL) “Never is Now” Summit on Anti-Semitism at the Grand Hyatt on Thursday, ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt pledged to register as a Muslim if President-elect Donald Trump and his administration proceed to create a government database to register and track foreign entrants from Muslim countries in order to thwart terrorism.

Feds Seek Life for Texas Muhammad Art Attack Conspirator

The only known, living terrorist connected to the May 2015 attack at the Muhammad Art contest in Texas, Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem, will face sentencing on October 25. Prosecutors are asking for a life sentence. Kareem, whose given name is Decarus Thomas, is a former Baptist who converted to Islam.
