Mexican High Court Rules Against Former Tamaulipas Governor Wanted by US Feds

A former Mexican governor wanted in the U.S. and in Mexico on drug conspiracy and money laundering charges may soon find himself behind bars after a Mexican high court denied his request for an injunction on the warrant issued out for his arrest. A recent ruling by the Second Tribunal in Penal Matters in Mexico sided with a previous ruling by a Mexican federal judge that the arrest warrant against former Tamaulipas governor Tomas Yarrington was valid, Mexico’s SDP Noticias reported.

Two Captured Zetas Commanders Blamed for Kidnappings near Border

Two commanders with Los Zetas who appear to be behind most of the kidnapping and extortion activity in the border city of Nuevo Laredo and the Tamaulipas State Capital of Ciudad Victoria are now behind bars.

Mexico’s Federal Police arrested Sarahi “La Hysteria” Garza Cadena during a traffic stop this past week in the border city of Nuevo Laredo. She was traveling in a car with two of her henchmen. Authorities recovered some weapons, a grenade, 15 kilograms of marijuana and communication equipment during the arrest, information released to Breitbart Texas by the Tamaulipas government revealed.

Mexican Journalist Fired for Exposing Government Corruption

Mexico’s efforts to silence critical media have proven successful with the recent firing of one of the few hard hitting journalists in that country along with her staff.

Last week, a number of independent news outlets announced a team effort to create an anti-corruption outlet called #Mexicoleaks. The effort called for brave citizens to leak documents to the group which after vetted would be published by all the outlets in an effort to make a dent in Mexico’s ever growing corruption. The effort went viral though Twitter and Facebook, however the news quickly turned away from the effort when one of the group’s leaders became a target of her own outlet.

ALAMO, Texas — Fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers of 43 kidnapped education students refuse to give up in their quest to find their loved ones alive despite what they call an ongoing effort on the part of the Mexican government to brush aside the case. Under the moto of “they took them alive, alive we want them” the relatives continue their quest for answers and justice.

Seven More Mexican Federales Accused of Kidnapping near Texas Border

Seven more Mexican Federales police officers have been arrested in connection with a kidnapping and extortion racket in the border city of Matamoros. The Mexican federales have been accused of kidnapping Saul Hernandez Bautista who had previously served as the Matamoros Public Safety director, Mexico’s El Norte newspaper reported.
