Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) replaced her chief of staff on Tuesday two weeks after one of her longtime top aides resigned after a California newspaper inquired about a $400,000 harassment lawsuit that was brought against him and eventually settled.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said last week that she did not know about a $400,000 settlement in a harassment lawsuit filed by a female employee against one of her top aides, Larry Wallace, while he was working for Harris at the California Department of Justice.
The Sacramento Bee on Thursday evening blasted Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) for claiming she was unaware that one of her top aides, Larry Wallace, engaged in inappropriate workplace behavior that led to a $400,000 harassment settlement, saying Harris’s explanation was “far-fetched.”
A senior adviser for Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) reportedly resigned on Wednesday evening after the Sacramento Bee “inquired about a $400,000 harassment and retaliation settlement resulting from his time working for Harris at the California Department of Justice.”
