Bus station employees are reporting that illegal immigrants continue pour into the Texas border town of Laredo. They have seen a holding center for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carrying between 20 and 40 undocumented women during at least five bus trips.

Texas Woman Uses Infant Child to Smuggle Meth From Mexico

A woman attempted to smuggle methamphetamine into Texas from Mexico by hiding the drugs under her clothing and those of her infant child. The discovery was made by Federal officers working at the Brownsville Port of Entry from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Elsewhere on the Texas border with Mexico, an additional $500,000 worth of methamphetamine and cocaine were seized in a separate smuggling attempt.

Brain-Eating Amoeba Reported in Rio Grande River Near Laredo

Health officials are reported a brain-eating amoeba was found in the Rio Grande River along the Texas border with Mexico. Mexican health officials in Tamaulipas warned people to refrain from swimming in or bathing in the river that is used by many to illegally enter the United States.

18,000 Illegal Aliens Caught in 5 Months — In Single Texas Sector

Nearly 18,000 illegal aliens were apprehended by Border Patrol agents in just one sector of the Texas/Mexico border, the Laredo Sector. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo Sector had an impressive first five months of the current fiscal year which began in October 2015. 17,945 apprehensions were made of illegal aliens who had crossed the border from Mexico.

Smugglers Changing Tactics in Laredo Sector of Texas Border

More than 130 pounds of marijuana was seized on Wednesday morning when U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Laredo South Sector discovered a vehicle leaving a known smuggling area along the Rio Grande River. The driver led agents on a short chase and crashed back into the river in what is described as a “splashdown” event. Breitbart Texas has learned this is a new technique for smugglers in the Laredo sector.

2 Tons of Marijuana Seized at Texas Inland Border Checkpoint

U.S. Border Patrol Agents discovered more than 4,000 pounds of marijuana in a tractor-trailer at the inland border checkpoint located on I-35 between San Antonio and Laredo. Agents were alerted to the possibility of drugs by a K-9 assigned to the checkpoint.

Abbott: DPS to Secure Most Wide Open Area of Texas Border

WESLACO, Texas – The most wide open area along the Texas border may soon get a boost in law enforcement presence as well as technology, said Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The border city of Laredo and its surrounding areas has a long history of being used for drug and human smuggling by the Los Zetas cartel. A lack of a border fence and populated areas just yards from the Rio Grande have led to detentions of illegal immigrants and drug smugglers around city streets Breitbart Texas previously published.
