In a recent article, the New York Times outlines how Twitter’s efforts to censor President Trump successfully limited his reach on election night. The Times notes that an analysis shows Trump’s post “was shared or replied to about 827 times a minute. After it was labeled, that dropped to 151 times a minute.”

Twitter disabled direct retweets of a tweet by President Donald Trump earlier today, the later in a long line of acts of censorship against the President and his administration, that have escalated in recent weeks. Taking its censorship of Trump to new levels, the platform requires users to click through a warning message, then look past several warning labels to follow its two-step quote retweet process.

Day 12: New York Post Still Locked Out of Twitter

It has now been 12 days since the New York Post was locked out of its Twitter account for sharing its story that alleged that Hunter Biden leveraged his father’s position as vice president to benefit his business dealings. The platform has silenced the Post until it agrees to delete its original tweet linking to the article, an act some Post staff have likened to “self-censorship.”
