As the year ended and the bloodletting in Chicago was tallied at nearly 800 murders, President-elect Donald J. Trump took to Twitter to decry the massive loss of life and chided the Windy City’s mayor for his seeming inability to do anything about the mayhem in his city.

Violent Crime Up 24 Per Cent in a Year

Violent crime in England and Wales has shot up by 24 per cent. In the 12 months to June, murder was up 20 per cent, knife crime 9 per cent, and gun crime surged 7 per cent, according to police recorded crime figures.

Want to Stop Gun Murder, Democrats? Give Up Your Guns

As the fallout from self-appointed victim Bryce Williams’ cold-blooded, videoed gun murder of two journalists at WDBJ continued, politicians of the left pulled out their dogeared playbook and began pushing gun control. Never mind that Williams bought his gun legally and passed all requisite background checks – and that Williams would have passed any background check, given his lack of criminal history or institutionalization. Never mind that Williams fired eight shots, which would fit within the boundaries of the magazine-shortening advocates. Something – anything! – has to be done about guns, say the left’s heroes.

Canadian Socialists Propose Possible Ban On Handguns

The socialist NDP’s 2015 “Policy Book” contains a proposal to “enable all municipalities, provinces, and territories to implement a ban on handguns.” This follows many times its leader Thomas Mulcair has called for a registration of all firearms via a “gun registry,” ostensibly in the interests of public safety.
