Texas Moves to Stop Future ‘Faithless Electors’

Texas leaders are moving quickly to prevent a repeat of Monday’s vote by two “faithless electors” who broke their vow to cast a ballot for the winner of the presidential vote in the Lone Star State. Bills have been filed in both houses for the upcoming legislative session creating penalties for electors who do not honor their pledge. Governor Greg Abbott has promised to sign the bill if it reaches his desk.

Texas Aborts Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid Funding

The State of Texas gave Planned Parenthood final notice on Tuesday that it would no longer allow it to participate in the Medicaid program in the Lone Star State. The letter from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) said it was “not qualified to provide medical services in a professionally competent, safe, legal, and ethical manner.”

Texas House Speaker: No Sanctuary Cities in Texas

The Speaker of the Texas House is joining with Governor Greg Abbott and Lt. Governor Dan Patrick in calling for an end to Sanctuary Cities in the Lone Star State.

“Speaker Straus will work with fellow House Members, Governor Abbott and law enforcement to ensure that there are no sanctuary cities in Texas,” said Jason Embry, communications director for Speaker Straus, in an email to Breitbart Texas.

Texas State Police Tapped to Help CPS Locate 2,800 Children

Members of the Texas Senate Finance Committee were incensed to hear on Wednesday that over 2,800 at-risk children have still not been seen by CPS after citizen reports of abuse or neglect. Senator John Wittmire immediately tapped the Texas Department of Public Safety to address this emergency. Of these 2,800 children, 511 are classified in the “priority one” category.

Texas AG Fires Off Brief in Waller Courthouse Gun Carry Lawsuit
