Stockton U. Student Faces Suspension for Zoom Background of President Trump

A student at Stockton University is facing a possible suspension and other disciplinary charges for making his Zoom background a photo of President Donald Trump and for a subsequent political Facebook post defending his freedom of expression, according to the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE). According to the university, the image of President Trump caused students “to feel offended, disrespected, and taunted.”

A group of students is defending UCLA Professor Gordon Klein, who was placed on leave after he denied a request to postpone a final exam for black students. Scottsdale Community College Apologizes to Prof Criticized for Quiz Questions About Islamic Terror

The chancellor at Scottsdale Community College has apologized for “the uneven manner” in which it handled a professor that drew criticism on social media over test questions about Islamic terrorism. Iowa Community College Gives Antifa Professor $25,000 over Firing

Jeff Klinzman will receive a $25,000 settlement from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, over the college’s decision to terminate him last fall. Klinzman was terminated from his professorship after he revealed that he was a member of the far-left militant group Antifa, threatened to attack President Trump with a baseball bat, and fantasized about murdering Christians.

FIRE: 77% of Universities Use Facebook’s Secret Social Media Blacklists to Censor the Public

A whopping 77 percent of top colleges and universities funded by taxpayer dollars use a secret social media blacklist to censor the public, which the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) says is in violation of the First Amendment.
