ESPN Prez Tries to Say Network Didn’t Pull Robert Lee Over Concerns His Name Would Offend, Then Admits They Did

ESPN’s President Jon Skipper sought to straighten some things out on Wednesday, regarding the network’s decision to pull Asian-American broadcaster Robert Lee from a game he was scheduled to broadcast in Charlottesville. That move, made due to concerns that Lee’s name, similar to that of non-Asian confederate General Robert E. Lee, would offend some viewers.

Insanity: ESPN Apologizes for Their Fantasy Football Auction, Which Resembled a Slave Auction, to Some

ESPN aired a segment on Tuesday in which they held a fantasy football auction, using staged images of real NFL players. Many of the staged images were of black players, and nearly all those bidding on the players were white. Leading some to say the scene resembled a slave auction. The network has since apologized for the segment, saying they understand how some could believe that the scene too closely resembled a slave auction.

ESPN’s Jemele Hill Says Police are Like ‘Slave Patrol’

Like many other left-wing sports commentators, ESPN’s Jemele Hill is incensed that anti-American protester Colin Kaepernick is still left unsigned by the NFL, but during a tweet about the former San Francisco 49er’s status, Hill went even farther by agreeing that America’s police are exactly the same as the “slave patrol” of the civil war era.
