Texas House Kills School Choice Funding Bill

The standstill on Texas school choice funding and public school financing came to a head in Austin late Wednesday when House Education Committee Chair Dan Huberty (R-Kingwood) made good on his promise to kill school choice, also knocking off public school financing since both were packed into the same piece of legislation, House Bill 21.

Choice for All Students is the Future of American Education

Late last week, and just in time for School Choice Week, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced a universal education savings account (ESA) bill for all of the District of Columbia’s children. The program allows parents, regardless of income or background, to take control of the dollars the District spends on their children’s educations and create customized educational plans to suit the needs and strengths of the individual student.
