Migrant Surge Continues in West Texas Border Town

A law enforcement source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports more than 600 migrants were apprehended in the Del Rio Sector on Friday. The flurry of activity began in the morning hours when nearly 400 migrants, mostly Haitian nationals were apprehended in Del Rio, Texas.

A Texas rancher living north of Eagle Pass discovered five unaccompanied migrant children abandoned by smugglers on their farmland Saturday night. The five small girls, ranging in ages from one to six years old, were led across the Rio Grande River and abandoned the evening before. Deported Criminal Alien Assaulted Border Patrol Agent, Say Feds

A previously deported criminal alien from Mexico assaulted a Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agent during an arrest. The Mexican national with an extensive criminal history was traveling with a large group of migrants near the immigration checkpoint on Highway 57 in South Texas.

Another Migrant Drowns in Texas Border River

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents recovered yet another body of a migrant who appears to have drowned while illegally crossing the Rio Grande border river. This is the fifth such drowning in this sector this fiscal year.
