Club for Growth Lauds Trump for Selecting Pence as VP

“Mike Pence would be an outstanding Vice-President,” Club for Growth President David McIntosh said in a statement after Trump tweeted that he has selected the Republican governor from Indiana as his running mate. Until now, the Club has been one of the real estate billionaire’s fiercest critics.

Club for Growth and Populist Taxes

Donald Trump is currently involved in a vicious argument with the Club for Growth over tax policy. The Club for Growth is running ads against Trump in Iowa accusing him of several offenses against growth-oriented conservatism, including a proposal to raise taxes. They added a bare-knuckle punch proclaiming Trump to be more liberal than Hillary Clinton, or even Bernie Sanders, and called him “the worst kind of politician.”

Club for Growth Calls FL. Sen. Candidate David Jolly the ‘C’ Word

That would be Charlie Crist, the former Florida Governor who used to be a Republican, then bailed on the party to run as an independent after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) surged to a double-digit lead in the 2010 Senate primary. Crist’s name has become a shorthand insult whenever someone wishes to challenge a candidate’s conservative credentials, and when Rep. David Jolly (R-FL) jumped into the Florida Senate race on Monday, the Club for Growth had thrown the Crist name at him within a few hours.

“Congressional Democrats, like Patrick Murphy, are in virtual lockstep in their support for the big corporate special interests that gain taxpayer-provided financing from the Export-Import Bank,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh in a statement provided to Breitbart News. “Despite the hundreds of fraud claims against Ex-Im, and the 31 open fraud investigations involving the bank, Murphy still wants an expansion of Ex-Im.”
