At least 23 people were shot, two of them fatally, Friday into Sunday morning in Mayor Brandon Johnson’s (D) Chicago.

A man appeared to point a handgun at a local news crew in Chicago on Wednesday while they were reporting live on-air about rampant gun violence in Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago. The disturbing incident occurred at approximately 7:oo a.m.

Forty people were shot, three of them fatally, during the weekend in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago. 

Forty-two percent of residents polled overwhelmingly chose crime as their top concern — “that’s more than three times for any other issues.”

Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) pushed for more federal gun control Tuesday as Chicago gun violence surges and firearm-related homicides continue to increase.

February is coming to a close and there has already been over 500 shooting victims in Chicago for 2017.

At first, the 2016 murder figures for gun-controlled Chicago drew attention by hitting 500, which was 32 higher than the total number of murders in 2015. Then the number of murders rose to 700, followed by a Chicago Tribune report that

The death toll from Chicago gun violence is so high that it is skewing national murder figures, making violence appear more ubiquitous than it actually is.

Over 730 homicides were committed between January 1, 2016, and December 6, 2016 in gun-controlled Chicago.
