An Air and Marine Operations crew located a boat off the coast of California and helped disrupt a human smuggling operation. They teamed up with Border Patrol agents and local law enforcement to seize the boat and arrest the smuggler with his human cargo.

‘Catch-and-Release is Done,’ Says CBP Acting Commissioner

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan told reporters Monday that “Catch-and-Release is done.” He explained that temporary policies to close loopholes in U.S. immigration and asylum laws led to a 70 percent decrease from the peak levels experienced earlier this year.

74 Miles of Border Wall Completed, 158 More Under Construction

Border Patrol officials say communities along the border are safer following the completion of 74 miles of improved border wall systems. Those systems include 30-foot bollard walls, new border access roads, lighting, and electronic surveillance. Construction on an additional 158 miles is underway with 450 miles scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020.

Feds Seize 300 Pounds of Fentanyl, Heroin, Meth at Arizona Border

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized more than 300 pounds of heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and small amount cocaine last weekend. The seizures came in four separate incidents at the Port of Nogales on the Arizona-Mexico international border. The officers arrested one Mexican national and four U.S. citizens and seized an estimated $4.2 million in drugs.
