A team of cartel gunmen in the popular resort city of Cancún ambushed members of the Quintana Roo State Police. The officers traveled along a busy street in a private non-duty vehicle this past Tuesday night.  The brazen attack left one police officer in serious condition and wounded other officers and administrative staff who were also in the vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries. A civilian riding on a motorcycle nearby was also wounded by stray gunfire.

Stray gunfire from cartel gunmen in the Mexican resort of Cancún struck and killed an 11-year old child. The stray round came from cartel gunmen who had opened fire on an adult male target. Officials transported the child to a local clinic where he died several hours later. 

Mexican authorities confirmed the discovery of at least 35 bodies in a series of mass graves. Officials found the graves in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The state is controlled by the ruthless criminal organization known as Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion.

Mexican police rescued two U.S. citizens who were kidnapped in Mexico. Ministerial Police in the border city of Nogales, Sonora, freed the kidnapped Americans during a police rescue operation. The operation resulted in the arrest of two kidnappers. 

SALTILLO, Coahuila – An attack by cartel gunmen in this border state set off a series of fierce gun battles where nine gunmen died and two police officers sustained multiple injuries.

Cartel gunmen used an armored SUV during a clash with Mexican military forces near the Texas border. The fierce gun battle killed one gunman while authorities managed to arrest four others. The rest of the hitmen managed to escape.

Police in Cancún apprehended a leader of a cartel hit-team wanted for multiple killings following a shootout. The gun battle with the ministerial police on Thursday left one female cartel operative dead.

Mexican authorities are investigating the murder of 14 victims, including an infant, during a party in the coastal state of Veracruz. The murder marks the latest episode of violence in a region where cartel gunmen openly challenge Mexico’s government and appear to surpass the capabilities of police agencies.

A three-time deported illegal alien with alleged ties to a Mexican cartel pleaded guilty in a New Mexico court on Monday to charges related to the attempted murder of a Border Patrol agent in 2017. The court dismissed aggravated battery and assault charges as part of a plea agreement. The court also dismissed a second criminal case against the man.

Despite the out of control violence, residents claim that soldiers from a nearby Mexican Army base largely ignored the gun battles.

Three Mexican state police officers assigned to a special operations group in the border state of Chihuahua were killed after being ambushed by cartel gunmen. The gunmen attacked the police officers with rifle fire and grenades on Friday. This deadly confrontation also left two other police officers wounded and five cartel gunmen dead.
