Mexican Army Reinforcements Arrive in Culiacán, Sinaloa

The government of Mexico deployed 230 Mexican Army Special Forces personnel who arrived in Culiacán, Sinaloa, on Friday night in response to cartel violence that broke out throughout the city on Thursday afternoon. The deployment of additional security elements resulted from a cartel rampage that exploded in Culiacán after the capture of the son of the notorious and imprisoned drug lord, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman. The Mexican government released the drug lord’s son after security forces became overwhelmed by the cartel response.

VIDEO: Pirates Rob Tourists on Party Boat in Mexico

A group of tourists celebrating a birthday on a party boat in Mexico came face to face with a crew of heavily armed pirates who robbed them at gunpoint. A passenger captured the ordeal on a cell phone video as gunmen can be heard and partially seen waving guns at the tourists as they demand wallets and purses.

The shooting took place in the city of Uruapan, where initial information points to gunmen from Mexico’s Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion being behind the attack.

More Trash Bags of Human Remains Found in Western Mexico

Authorities in the western Mexican state of Jalisco continue to discover dozens of trash bags filled with dismembered human remains. The discoveries point to an ongoing extermination tactic by cartel members fighting for control of the region. Officials found the remains in wells, shallow pits, and grassy areas as authorities continue to put the pieces back together and identify the victims.

Enough Fentanyl to Kill 14 Million Seized in Mulit-State Investigation

Federal authorities seized enough fentanyl to kill more than 14 million people following an investigation that covered Texas, North Carolina, and Virginia. The busts resulted in the arrests of 35 people and the seizure of distribution quantities of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and cocaine base. Investigators also found weapons and cash during a three-day operation.

Mexican President Pushes Amnesty on Crime, Senate to Decide

Mexico’s President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador is pushing for a new bill that would grant amnesty to thousands of currently jailed individuals. The bill called Ley de Amnistia or Amnesty Law is expected to go before Mexico’s Senate. If the senate passes the bill, it would lead to the release of thousands of individuals who have been “unjustly jailed”.

Un grupo de sicarios de Los Zetas que viajaban en camionetas blindados y portaban rifles calibre .50, ametralladoras y explosivos enfrentaron y corretearon a un grupo de policías de Nuevo León que habían ingresado brevemente a la ciudad fronteriza de Nuevo Laredo en Tamaulipas. Tres oficiales sufrieron varias heridas en el ataque, y Los Zetas lograron incendiar uno de los vehículos de la policía. Mexican Officials Downplay Los Zetas Chasing Border State Cops Out of Cartel’s Territory

A group of Los Zetas gunmen riding in armored trucks while carrying .50 caliber rifles, machine guns, and explosives chased a squad of Nuevo Leon police officers out of the cartel’s territory. The police briefly entered the border city of Nuevo Laredo in Tamaulipas. State officials are trying to downplay the attack claiming that Los Zetas did not use grenade launchers or RGP’s, despite multiple law enforcement sources confirming the use of explosive devices.

Another Narco-Music Singer Killed in Mexican Border City

Cartel violence in the border city of Tijuana continued this week as cartel gunmen murdered a Mexican narco-music singer at an upscale outdoor mall. A total of 145 homicides have been registered in Tijuana during the month of July as of late Friday night bringing the total killed in 2019 to, 1,244.

Mexican Border State Cops Kidnapped by Cartel Gunmen Found Murdered

Officials found the remains of the four kidnapped municipal police officers on Wednesday morning. A team of cartel gunmen in the Mexican border state of Chihuahua kidnapped them on July 14. The four municipal police officers responded to a disturbance call at “La Presa El Tigre” — the Tigre Dam — when the group of cartel gunmen carried out the kidnapping.
