Texas HD 128: Lawsuit Seeks Videos for Use in Campaign

A Republican candidate for state representative filed a lawsuit seeking the right to use legislative videos taken during proceedings of the Texas House of Representatives in his campaign advertising. He claims that the videos highlight votes and positions that his opponent incumbent Wayne Smith (R-Baytown) has taken that are inconsistent with what Smith tells constituents.

Planned Parenthood Suing Texas in Fight for Medicaid Funding

Planned Parenthood is suing the State of Texas in a fight to continue to receive Medicaid dollars. Officials for the state stopped the abortion provider from receiving these funds after numerous undercover videos showed Planned Parenthood officials discussing the sale of baby parts and tissue. The state’s halt of dollars includes millions in federal dollars it distributes, as well as hundreds of thousands of state dollars.

Texas Abortion Clinics Plead with Court: Save Our Lives!

Parties for the abortion clinics in Whole Woman’s Health, et al. at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, have filed a letter stating that 11 clinics will be forced to close down if the Court does not grant the abortion clinic’s motion to stay the Court’s June 9th opinion.
