The governor of the Russian region of Belgorod claimed on Tuesday that Ukrainian troops had launched an attempt to “break through the border,” potentially expanding the surprise ground campaign targeting neighboring Kursk that began on August 6.

The Netherlands said Ukraine will be free to use F-16s to attack targets within Russia as the Kremlin has warned of “fatal consequences”.

MOSCOW (AP) – Russia’s Defence Ministry on Friday promised to ramp up “the scale of missile attacks” on Kyiv in response to Ukraine’s “diversions on the Russian territory.”

The Kremlin, Russian state media, and local officials on Friday accused Ukrainian forces of conducting a helicopter strike on a fuel depot near the southern Russian city of Belgorod. Ukrainian officials could not confirm their military was responsible for the explosion at press time.
