Jerry Brown Signs Historic Anti-BDS Bill Into Law

On Saturday afternoon, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed an historic anti-boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) bill, Assembly Bill 2844, into law, effectively barring companies that engage in discrimination against any sovereign state — including the Jewish state of Israel — from doing business with the Golden State.

California Legislature Passes Anti-BDS Law

California’s State Assembly has voted nearly unanimously, save one vote in both the State Assembly and Senate, to send the Golden State’s first-ever anti-“boycott, divestment and sanctions “(BDS) bill to Gov. Jerry Brown, who will need to decide whether to sign or veto it by September’s end.
