Jeff Sessions, the first U.S. Senator to endorse Trump, was rumored for a number of positions in Trump’s cabinet, including Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense but it appears that the former Attorney General of Alabama has been selected for the highest law and order position in the administration.

Taxpayer Outcry for Texas AG Prosecution Expenses Brings Policy Shift

The commissioners court in Collin County, Texas unanimously passed a resolution which governs how the court will look at attorney fees in the prosecution case of the Texas Attorney General. The resolution is a policy shift for some of the commissioners. The action was taken after persistent and strident outcry by taxpayers, and after concern was expressed by area state representatives and a state senator.

City’s New Pot Ordinance Will Turn Toledo into a Cartel Haven, Says Ohio Attorney General

Ohio’s Attorney General believes the Toledo’s new pot ordinance will turn the city into a haven for drug cartels. In September 2015, residents of Toledo, Ohio voted 11,663 to 4,911 to pass the “Sensible Marihuana Ordinance,” which eliminated the punishments for possessing and trafficking marijuana. It makes the crime either a minor drug offense or a fifth-degree drug felony.

Loretta Lynch in 2006: Term ‘Living Fetus’ Is ‘Hopelessly Vague’

In 2006, attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch joined other former U.S. attorneys in an amicus brief in a case before the Supreme Court that maintained the federal law against partial-birth abortion was unconstitutional because the term “living fetus” was too vague for those whose job it was to obey and enforce the ban.

Senate Conservatives Blast McConnell, McCain Over Impending Lynch Confirmation

Obama’s nominee to replace Eric Holder as Attorney General has been met with one of the most contentious confirmation proceedings America has seen for the position, and now Senate Conservatives Fund President Ken Cuccinelli is calling out the GOP Senators and political gamesmanship enabling the controversial impending confirmation of U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch. The Senate vote has been set for Thursday.
