On January 19 — the last full day of Barack Obama’s presidency — U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe issued a ban on the use of “traditional ammunition on Service lands.”
On May 10, a spokesman for Hillary Clinton tried to reassure voters that there is a limit to what the Democratic frontrunner would do to cripple gun rights, saying, “Of course Hillary Clinton does not want to repeal the Second Amendment.”

Representative Steve Israel (D-NY) has sent a letter to acting ATF director Thomas Brandon contending that a broad look at all firearm-related law enforcement deaths justifies the issuance of an AR-15 ammunition ban.
