USA Today is under fire after altering an op-ed written by a Connecticut girl explaining the disadvantage she and other female athletes face in competing against boys claiming to be transgender girls in track and field, adding an editor’s note to the top apologizing for “hurtful” language used in the piece and altering her words, specifically targeting the word “male.”

Dozens of conservative groups are asking South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) to support legislation that “protects all women—kindergarten to college—and provides them with a legal remedy when their rights are violated,” noting in a Monday letter that the Republican governor can join their coalition to defend Title IX by “supporting legislation like HB 1217 as originally passed.”

Georgia Tech Settles Free Speech Lawsuit After Denying Speaker Fee for Alveda King

The Georgia Institute of Technology settled a lawsuit with the Students for Life group this week over the university’s refusal to fund an event with Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As a result of the lawsuit, the university has revised its policies to ensure that funding for student groups will be awarded in a “viewpoint-neutral” manner.
