Islamic State Video Praises Successes of Boko Haram in Niger

This Islamic State released a video Wednesday touting the successes of its African affiliate, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), the terror group more popularly known as Boko Haram. The jihadists in the video vow to enslave the entire continent, beginning with the conquest of Niger.

U.S. Admits to Boots on the Ground in Libya

Although the Libyan unity government prematurely declared victory a few weeks ago, fierce fighting against Islamic State (ISIS) forces continues in the city of Sirte, killing more than 60 people on Tuesday alone. Meanwhile, the U.S. government has admitted to having “boots on the ground” in Libya, although their numbers and missions remain secret.

Nigeria Begins Air-Bombing Boko Haram’s Dense Forest Hideout

The government of Nigeria has claimed for months that the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) affiliate Boko Haram has been defeated. Yet military campaigns continue, and this week, the army began bombing the Sambisa forest, a largely inaccessible plot of land known as the terrorist group’s last hideout.
