Donald Trump vs. Ben Carson: Energy vs. Ideology

The intriguing similarity between Donald Trump and Ben Carson is that both continually defy conventional wisdom and flourish despite coordinated media/Democrat attacks. That’s partially because so many voters have come to despise the corrupt system, and they’re weary of hyper-sensitive freakout-prone popular culture.

Club for Growth and Populist Taxes

Donald Trump is currently involved in a vicious argument with the Club for Growth over tax policy. The Club for Growth is running ads against Trump in Iowa accusing him of several offenses against growth-oriented conservatism, including a proposal to raise taxes. They added a bare-knuckle punch proclaiming Trump to be more liberal than Hillary Clinton, or even Bernie Sanders, and called him “the worst kind of politician.”

Family Ties: Half Jeb Bush’s Contributions From Previous Bush Donors

Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign and supportive PACs made headlines for raking in a combined total of about $120 million — more than double that of any of his Republican competitors — and the Bush name was incredibly helpful in raising those funds. A new analysis of Federal Elections Commission (FEC) records shows that more than half of Bush’s campaign war chest comes from donors who have previously donated to Bush’s father, former President George H.W. Bush, or his brother, former President George W. Bush.

The 10 Most Important Reasons Trump Would Make a Great President

Given the cruel and daunting threats the nation faces—ISIS, $18 trillion U.S. debt, broken borders, rampant joblessness, violent crime—America, more than ever, needs strong, decisive leadership. Thankfully for the nation, America has many strong Republican primary candidates from which to choose. But those who say Trump isn’t among them are wrong.

Hillary Clinton Can’t Even Be Honest About Ice Cream

Now that we have settled the absolutely critical question of Hillary Clinton’s favorite flavor of ice cream, perhaps now the press can ask some questions about her email server or Benghazi or something. That is, if she ever lets them get past the rope line.

SCOTUS Rulings May Save GOP Presidential Hopes

Obamacare and gay marriage are now off the political table. In the primaries, approximately 40% of the Republican base are white, evangelical Christians. In the general election, the diversity of the American electorate comes into full play.

GOP Presidential Debate Organizers Facing Mathematical Quandry

Looking just at these most recent numbers, if we are going to select the top ten candidates — the cutoff to participate in the debate under the current rules — we will end up with sixteen candidates who can legitimately claim to be in the “top ten,” due to the number of ties.

The King v. Burwell Aftermath

This is a very bad precedent to set, especially if Roberts’ reasoning is followed to the conclusion that the bigger and more ambiguously-written a law is, the more untrammeled executive power it grants. No matter what ultimately becomes of ObamaCare, that will come back to haunt us in many other contexts in the future.

50 Shades of Bernie Sanders: Politics as Character

Sanders’ writings were, of course, dismissed as irrelevant old news by the very same media that assured us the tale of Mitt Romney allegedly giving a fellow student a haircut in 1965 was among the reddest and hottest of bulletins in 2012.

Warren on Clinton: ‘I’d Like to See Her Be Clearer’ On Trade Deal

No Demoocrat seems willing to commit to much, yet. But if Hillary Clinton survives her scandals, Elizabeth Warren isn’t going to marginalize herself in the party by acting obstinate. She knows Democrat voters will march out for whoever the Party candidate is, whether alleged populist rising stars endorse them or not… but if the Party candidate goes on to defeat, they’ll be looking for scapegoats.

Ted Cruz Raking in Millions — But Poorly Matched to Defeat Hillary

Just over two weeks after Tea Party poster boy Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced he would be running for president in 2016, the Associated Press is reporting four super PACs who support Cruz have already raked in millions in donations, with the final tally expected to reach an astounding $31 million by week’s end.

Ballot Integrity, the Rule Of Law, and Jeb Bush’s ‘Hispanic’ Check Box

The race/ethnicity section of the form was optional, and conveyed no benefit to the registrant – there was nothing for Bush to gain by deliberately misrepresenting himself as Hispanic, even if it could be proven that he did this intentionally. There wasn’t any political benefit to doing so, either, and there is no evidence that Bush ever sought to (absurdly) turn his “Hispanic” voter registration into a political asset, since the form lay dormant in the archives until surfacing this week.
