Nikole Hannah-Jones, the creator of the New York Times’ now-debunked “1619 Project” said she would consider it an “honor” if all the devastating riots over the past few weeks were remembered as the “1619 Riots.”
Appearing Monday on CNN, New York Times writer Nikole Hannah-Jones — famous for falsely claiming that the American Revolution was fought primarily to preserve slavery — euphemized the act of looting as “symbolic” restitution from a society that oppresses black Americans.
Historians were outraged by Hannah-Jones’s false claim, which the Times was forced to correct. She won the Pulitzer anyway.
Another high level employee of the New York Times made racist, anti-semitic, and disparaging comments on social media.
