New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave was arrested in Kenner, Louisiana, on Monday night on suspicion of reckless operation of a motor vehicle, according to a spokesperson for the Kenner Police Department.
Olave was pulled over for allegedly driving 70 mph in a 35 mph zone. The report states that Olave was compliant and did not resist arrest.
The Saints facility is also located in Kenner. Under Louisiana law, Olave could face a fine not to exceed $200, imprisonment for a maximum of 90 days, or both. The Saints say they are aware of the incident but have not commented further.
Olave’s brother, Josn, made a post on Z, seemingly addressing his brother’s arrest. “Bro was on the way back to the crib from CVS… aint nun serious,” he wrote.
Of course, Olave was not arrested for driving home from CVS. He was arrested for going 70 mph in a 35 mph zone, which is actually quite serious.
“Olave was drafted out of Ohio State by the Saints in 2022 with the No. 11 overall pick,” CBS Sports reports. “This season, he is the team’s top receiver with 39 receptions for 471 yards and one touchdown.”
