The FN 503 is a single stack 9mm pistol that offers concealablity and incredible accuracy with a grip that is still substantial enough for larger hands.
We have not had the FN 503 long, but it did not take much to figure out that the trigger on this gun is special. There are no hiccups or bumps as the trigger is pulled. Rather, the trigger on the FN 503 provides a smooth, consistent pull with a crisp, learnable finish.
Such a trigger allows you to pull the gun out of the box and enjoy accuracy from the outset:
The FN 503 comes in with a width of 1.1 inches. That is right in the ballpark with wildly popular compacts like the Sig Sauer 365 and Glock 43. The Sig and Glock are both 1.06 inches wide.
Regarding overall length, the FN 503 is 5.9 inches, while the Sig 365 is 5.8 inches and the Glock 43 is 6.2 inches.
To put it simply, the FN 503 is right there in the mix as far as dimensions go, but can stand out in the crowd because of its trigger and resulting accuracy.
The FN 503 ships with one six round magazine and a magazine that holds eight rounds. The larger magazine contains a grip extension that makes the pistol a comfortable fit for people with larger hands, and this helps the gun stand out from crowd even more.
These are just our first impressions with the FN 503, and many hundreds of rounds remain to be shot. But at this point, the FN 503 has jumped into the race with everything necessary to make it a viable and comfortable option for everyday carry.
