NFL coaches do not like it when they’re quarterbacks don’t do what they’re told. However, sometimes there’s a really good reason for doing it.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was called off the field by his coaches on Tuesday, when a planned autograph session was supposed to be over. Instead, the second-year quarterback stayed to sign autographs and take pictures with every military member in attendance.
Twitter heartily approved of Mayfield’s generous gesture:
Mayfield and the Browns will play their first preseason game against the Redskins on Thursday night.
