Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey highlighted his desire for a big new contract on Wednesday, by showing up at training camp in an armored truck.
The actor hired to announce the arrival broke out a bullhorn and said, “Ya’ll know what time it is.”
“This man’s coverage is so good, he’s gonna have his own cell phone service,” the announcer told the members of the media gathered for the stunt. “The man’s so good, they’re gonna give him his own jail called Jalen County because these receivers are on 24-hour lockdown.”
The announcer added, “If you check his pockets, he’s got 8 Master Locks in his pocket, they are on lockdown all season,” and then gave Ramsey his cue to exit the car.
Ramsey then burst out of the back of the car carrying his equipment bags.
The two-time Pro Bowl player is entering the fourth year of his rookie contract and will make an additional $3.6 million this season. However, with the rookie deal coming to its inevitable end, Ramsey insists that he is going to go charging hard into his next contract negotiation.
“I’mma ask for so much money, they have to put me on layaway.” he recently joked.
