A passenger on a flight from the U.S. to France, turned down Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s offer of big cash for his seat with extra legroom.

Newton offered the man $1,500 to switch seats for the long transatlantic flight, but the man said no way, the New York Post wrote.

The meeting that ended up at loggerheads was caught on video and posted to Twitter by NBC Titans Games contestant Eli Edwards.

“So this happened,” Edwards tweeted on Friday, “Cameron Newton offered a man $1,500 cash for extra legroom on a 10hr flight, and the man said ‘No?'”

That left the six-foot-five NFL quarterback stuck in a regular coach seat for the entire ten-hour flight overseas.

Newton finished the 2019 season with a personal best completion percentage of 67.9, 3,395 yards passing, and 24 touchdowns. He also achieved 488 yards rushing and four rushing touchdowns.

His team, though, did not finish on a high earning only a 6-8 season on the tail of a 2017 season hitting 11-5.
