A police officer who alleges that Toronto Raptors President Masai Ujiri attacked and injured him after Game Six of the NBA Finals, has not ruled out filing a lawsuit against the Toronto executive.
The thus far unidentified officer says that Ujiri struck him in the head and chest and that he suffered a concussion, according to TMZ.
“He has a serious concussion; a templar mandibular joint injury, which is a serious jaw injury,” the officer’s attorney David Mastagni told KPIX 5.
“It’s an unprovoked significant hit to the jaw of the law enforcement officer,” the attorney added.
The confrontation occurred after Game Six when the Raptors clinched the series against the Golden State Warriors. While clear video of the incident has not surfaced, at least one video does show the unnamed officer and Ujiri in the thick of the pushing and shoving.
The officer says that Ujiri became upset when the officer questioned him about credentials.
Attorney Mastagni noted that no lawsuit has yet been filed but added, “All options are on the table. No options are off the table. No options are being ruled out as to how to rectify the situation.”
The Raptors have not issued any response to the litigation threats.
