The 2019 NFL schedule was supposed to be released at 8:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday on the NFL Network. Well, so much for that. Most of the schedule has already been leaked out to various media sources.

According to multiple reports, two iconic NFL franchises will square off in week one, with the New York Giants traveling to Dallas to play the Cowboys on the afternoon of September 8.

The NFL schedule-makers seem to love this week one match-up.  These two clubs have squared off to start the season five of the last six seasons.

This is a big season for the quarterbacks on each of these teams.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is angling for a monster contract and the Giants Eli Manning, who some think is over-the-hill at 38, is looking to prove his detractors wrong and show he’s still got game. Manning will be without his top receiver from last year, Odell Beckham, who was traded to the Cleveland Browns in March.

Another marquee match-up in Week One, according to the leaks, is Pittsburgh traveling to Foxboro, Massachusetts, to face the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. The Steelers will be sans two key offensive players from recent years, star receiver Antonio Brown and standout running back Le’Veon Bell. Brown was traded to Oakland and Bell signed with the Jets. Pittsburgh is highly motivated to show they can win without these two players.

Two of the NFL’s original franchises will open the season on Thursday, September 5, with the Green Bay Packers at the Chicago Bears.
