Coaches have to be able to deal with all types of conflicts during a game. However, the incident Chiefs coach Andy Reid found himself dealing with on Saturday was not likely one he had prepared for.
During the first half, Reid was asked to come over and address fans who were throwing snowballs onto the field.
According to Fox 4 in Kansas City, “The officials called him over from the Kansas City sideline during the two-minute warning in the first half, and Reid shouted and gestured at the fans in the lower deck — though the snowballs were mostly raining down from the upper deck, far above the field.
“Earlier in the half, one almost hit Colts punter Rigoberto Sanchez during a kick.”
Kansas City fans weren’t the only ones slinging it around on Saturday. Pat Mahomes threw for 278 yards as the Chiefs cruised to a 31-13 win. Next, the Chiefs will host the winner of the Patriots-Chargers game. Given the strong feelings Chiefs fans have toward Tom Brady and Philip Rivers, if there’s snow in Kansas City next week Andy Reid could once again find himself summoned to establish law and order.
