A long list of Winter Olympics medal winners has decided to skip a visit to President Donald Trump’s White House, according to reports.
Skier Gus Kenworthy, for instance, insisted that “the resistance is real,” on a recent Twitter post announcing that he would not be attending the White House event to celebrate the U.S. delegation to the Winter Olympics held this year in PyeongChang, South Korea.
Joining Kenworthy in abstaining from the White House visit will be skier Lindsey Vonn, skater Adam Rippon, medal-winner Erin Hamlin, and Olympians such as Chloe Kim, Jessie Diggins, and David Wise, CNN reported.
Still, others have signaled their intention to attend the event.
The entire gold-medal-winning U.S. women’s hockey team will be in attendance, USA Today reported.
“Everyone wanted to go,” Brant Feldman, the agent for team captain Meghan Duggan. “It’s not about liking Trump or not liking Trump. They all wanted to be together again.”
