The North American Arms Guardian .380 is pocket gun that is as concealable and accurate as it is beautiful.
With its thick wooden grips, the stainless steel Guardian is a throw back to the old days when the go-to gun was a revolver commonly outfitted wooden grips of various textures and colors.
The Guardian is very small in size (I can hide the gun from sight by tucking it into the palm of my hand). Yet it packs six rounds of .380 in the magazine and one in the chamber, for a total of seven rounds.
The gun weighs in at just over 20 ounces, which is slightly heavier than many other .380 pocket guns but that is not necessarily a bad thing. The gun is still light enough for front pocket carry and the extra weight actually helps with recoil management.
On top of these things, the Guardian is accurate. The pistol’s dimunitive sights are easy to master and the long trigger pull proves to be an ally because it is consistent throughout.
Breitbart News put about 250 rounds through the Guardian .380 on day one and will be putting many hundreds more through it in the weeks and months to come. To date, the pistol was very happy with cheap FMJ ammo, odd and end rounds from an ammo box, and Hornady Critical Defense hollowpoint ammunition.
The North American Arms Guardian was a pleasant surprise from the moment we took it out of the box. It will certainly be a favorite for concealed carry in the weeks and months to come.
The MSRP for a Guardian .380 is $456.
