Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow may be pursuing a career in professional baseball these days, but as the new XFL football league prepares for its 2020 debut, he isn’t shutting the door on going back to the gridiron.
Tebow was asked on February 13 what he thought about the coming return of the XFL, and he didn’t immediately rule it out, The Smokeroom reported.
“I don’t know. That’s a long way from now,” Tebow told TMZ Sports about possibly joining the league.
The player is right, of course. A lot can happen for an athlete in two years and with the XFL not gearing up until 2020, that two-year span is a long time in the life of an athlete, especially considering he will be 32 by that time.
Still, Tebow has been laser focused on baseball and doing far better at the sport than detractors expected. The former Denver Bronco has also been appearing as a college football analyst on ESPN.
On top of all that, Tebow does important charity work. The busy man recently hosted his third annual “Night to Shine” event, a celebration that focuses on celebrating God’s love for those with special needs. More than 175,000 volunteers stepped up to the plate to organize these events around the world.
