The home of New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski was robbed during Sunday’s Super Bowl with “multiple safes and possible guns” taken.
Gronkowski discovered the burglary had occurred upon coming home to Foxborough after his team’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to the Boston Globe, Foxborough Police Chief William D. Baker lamented that Gronkowski had been handed a “double whammy” via the burglary. Baker said, “I don’t know if you ever been the victim of a break-in, but when you are robbed and there is an intrusion into your personal space, it’s unpleasant whether you are Rob Gronkowski or Bill Baker. For him it’s a double whammy coming off the loss.”

Beyond the recording of the dispatcher, Baker made clear that details of the robbery will not be revealed as a means of preserving “the integrity” of the ongoing investigation and the privacy of Gronkowski.
