Thursday the Associated Press named Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield the best football player in the country, and hours later Value Add Basketball calculated that Oklahoma’s Trae Young ranks as the top basketball player in the country.
He is worth an extra 12.02 points per game over a replacement player.
Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin (2009) and Buddy Hield (2016) both ranked as the second-best college player this season in the all-time data base. Mayfield is almost assured to receive the Heisman Trophy this weekend before leading Oklahoma into the College Football Semifinal game against Georgia.
Mikal Bridges leads Villanova as the best team in college basketball so far by improving the Wildcats by 11.66 points per game at Value Add Basketball. The Wildcast boast the only one-two punch in the Top 25 listed below with Jalen Brunson ranking as the 16th most valuable player.
