When Tom Brady throws a pass to Rob Gronkowski, Rob Gronkowski wants to be the one to catch it. In other words, “Gronk” catches the ball, Gronk, and no one else.

That sense of receiver’s entitlement, might best explain Gronkowski taking temporary leave of his senses in Buffalo on Sunday.

During the Patriots game against the Bills, Buffalo’s Tre’Davious White intercepted a pass intended for Gronkowski. Gronk did not take this well:

Incredibly. Gronkowski did not get ejected for this bellyflop/punch. Instead, the officials called offsetting penalties on the play. Gronkowski did apologize for the cheap shot after the game. Patriots coach Bill Belichick also apologized to Bills head coach Sean McDermott after the game, calling the hit “B.S.”

Gronkowski will not likely get suspended, since he immediately apologized for the incident and has no record of previous transgressions of this nature. Though, suspension of at least one game is still a possibility. More likely, Gronkowski will get hit with a hefty fine from the league.
