Houston Texans star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins left practice on Friday, due to team owner Bob McNair’s remark that allowing players to have too much power, would be akin to “letting the inmates run the prison.”

McNair made the comments during an October 17th NFL meeting when, in reference to Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones’ comments that his players would be required to stand, McNair said: “See, Jones gets it — 96 percent of Americans are for guys standing. We can’t have the inmates running the prison.”

McNair later apologized for the comments.

However, that wasn’t good enough for Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who was apparently so upset he had to leave practice:

Hopkins, reportedly, wasn’t the only player who felt that way. Schefter then reported that the entire team almost walked out:

Schefter then retweeted the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, who shared more comments from the team:

Given that Texans Owner Bob McNair was also a major contributor to President Trump’s campaign, you can safely expect this story to remain quite lively throughout the weekend.
