A lawyer for golf great Tiger Woods Tiger Woods Tiger Woods said on Monday that a hacker obtained nude photos of the golfer and girlfriend Lindsey Vonn, then released them to tabloid website Celeb Jihad. The lawyer also warned that a lawsuit would be filed if the photos weren’t removed.
The photos came from Vonn’s personal cell phone which was hacked, according to the Sporting News.
Attorney Marty Singer said that if Celeb Jihad did not remove the stolen photos immediately, a lawsuit would be filed. Vonn’s attorney released a similar warning.
Vonn’s representative called the phone hacking a “despicable invasion of privacy” and said Vonn would take “all necessary and appropriate legal action” against the website.
“She believes the individuals responsible for hacking her private photos as well as the websites that encourage this detestable conduct should be prosecuted to the fullest extent under the law,” Vonn’s lawyer added.
The release of the private photos is far from the only problem Woods has faced recently. The golfer was involved in a strange traffic stop over Memorial Day that revealed he was incapacitated by prescription drugs.
A toxicology report issued on August 14 revealed that Woods had five prescription drugs in his system when police found him sleeping in the driver’s seat of his vehicle which was stopped on the side of the road in Florida.
The golfer soon admitted he was self-medicating to deal with pain associated with multiple back surgeries.
