The juice is not yet loose, but could be soon.
Notorious felon, and Hall of Fame running back O.J. Simpson will have a parole hearing in July. Simpson has served nine years of the 33-year sentence he received for his role in an attempt to reclaim some memorabilia he believed was stolen from him. Simpson was eventually charged with burglary and kidnapping.
According to NBC, “Simpson was sentenced in 2008 for the burglary, thirteen years to the day that he was famously acquitted of the California murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman. The case has remained open and Simpson cannot be retried for the murders.
“Simpson was found liable for the killings in a 1997 civil case.”
As Pro Football Talk explains, “The key question regarding Simpson’s potential freedom will be whether and to what extent discretion may be exercised by the parole board. That discretion will allow anyone who thinks he should be serving life without parole for the 1994 killings to justify keeping him behind bars for more of that 33-year term.”
Karma is a real thing.
